Integra Enters the Blu-ray Fray
There may be plenty of Blu-ray players out there already but Integra believes they have something special to offer their dedicated customers. Known for their premium performance products, Integra releases the DBS-6.9, their first Blu-ray player, which delivers full 1080p video at 24 frames per second, the native frame rate for most original motion pictures and HD content. The player features an HDMI v. 1.3a output, and is fully compatible with the Deep Color standard. The HDMI connection also delivers bitstream output of both Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio codecs, which can be decoded in processors or AV receiver's with decoding capabilities for these new surround codecs. Two appropriate examples would be Integra's DTR- series of AV receivers, or the recently introduced DHC-9.9 preamplifier/processor (see entry on Sept 30). The DBS-6.9 includes a front-panel SD card slot and if also provides the Bonus View picture-in-picture capability, which gives consumers access to the interactive content available on many Blu-ray discs. It is, of course, compatible with legacy DVDs and has internal upscaling to 1080p, The DBS-6.9 is also capable of playing CD, Video CD, CD-R/RW, DVD±R/RW, DivX, WMA, JPG and even MP3 encoded discs. The Integra DBS-6.9 is now available at all authorized dealers and sells for a list price of $600.
